March 2007 Wedding

Well finally the blog is up and working again!! Phew!!!
Life has been flat out once again. Moved to Melbs and am now all settled in in my new house which is only 5 mins walk from uni, which is great and saves on petrol money.
I also have two good friends that only live in the suburb across from me so that is tops too!
Went to my friend 'Emmas' wedding on the weekend and had a blast. See photos below.
Also caught up with Charles and Alla for a few hours before I drove back to Melbs!
Got the phone and internet connected up today....only took 4 weeks but I certainly appreciate it now it's here.
Also scored myself a job with 'Delaware Nth' working at corporate functions at the footy, cricket, swimming and tennis this year........Yay more hospitality!!
Other photos are of Ruby 4 and Noah 3.
Charles' Bday this Thurs 15th of March!!

2007 and the Big Move
Melbourne in a week!! I am now all enrolled and even have a house just a few minutes walk from uni. How organised :) Restaurant slowed down a bit over Christmas, but we all managed to stay pretty busy anyway...go figure.
In the past five days I have driven from Warrack to Melbourne, From Melb back to Warrack then Warrack to Adelaide and rocked up back in town last night. Needless to say I now have a cracker headache. Driving down to Melb to move all my stuff in on Sunday.
Loved catching up with the fam in Ads little Ruby is going to be five soon Ekkkk!! Did loads of shopping to :)
The Woods of Rosedene won the 'Community Event of the Year' Award on Australia Day. Which was fantastic!!!!!
Oh and the Dvd's arrived finally. And are really professional. Sven Hen did a really great job. If anyone would like to order more, just let me know, Sven is preparing another lot for those of you who missed out! The interviews are a real crack up (Australian Story Material I think :)
$15 for a dvd and will be posted from Adelaide to your address.

Christmas and New Years Eve 2006

It's New Years Eve!!! The fam and I had a really great Christmas. Great meaning we went away for Christmas to Halls Gap, put up a branch for a Christmas tree, made our own bon bons, and got some carols cracking on the c.d player.
The day after Christmas Charles's girlfriend Alicja and I decided to go for a mountain climb to work off Christmas lunch. Asking the tourist information man for a walk much more challenging than the pinnacle (which was still closed a year on due to the fires) He choose for us Mt Stapleton which is next door to Mt Zero, for those of you who don't know. As we drove forty minutes out of halls gap and into the middle of no where it was hard for my over active imagination to stop drawing up some sort of scenario from Wolf Creek. Luckily when we arrived there were about three cars parked under trees. The walk/climb was 6.5km to the top and 6.5km to the bottom. It was a really challenging walk and quite scary nearing the top but well worth it. We started at 2pm and made it back down by 6.15pm which was pretty good considering the guy said it would take us 5.5 hours.

Yesterday to continue on with the theme, Charles, Alla and I walked to the top of Mt Arapiles, 1.5 to the summit and not nearly as challenging.
Last night as I lay in bed hand of ears, Warracknabeal was greeted with a fantastic thunder storm, and out our way (Dumbouy) we got '42' points in town '32'. It is currently still raining. And although we still need much more rain it is a good feeling to know the birds, wallabies etc are able to have a drink.

Choirs, concerts and study groups

Since finishing The Woods of Rosedene two weeks ago now. Many ideas have popped up and have been spoken about to me concerning the ARTS in this town and also the YOUTH. I'll list them below but please guys email me or leave a comment below as to what you think about these ideas or if you come up with other ideas of your own.
1) A Community Choir= O.k so I'm talking a big arsed choir with whomever wants to come along and sing their lungs out to some wicked music, African tunes, Irish Music, Pop, etc there is so much out there. Think about it, spread the word, or write to me with ideas.
2) A big concert each year, wholly and solely Warracknabeal talent. In the town hall, dancing, singing ,comedy, acting etc. Something big and beautiful Warrack can have even twice a year!!!
3) A study area for anybody at school who finds it hard to study at home. There will next year hopefully be a place in town (Neighbour hood house) where you can grab your books and come on in to study. Away from the lure of your , television, computer, that packet of chips off to your left and any noise. What a great idea I reckon. So get behind it, it's definitely going to go ahead. And you can be anybody at all, everyone is invited who wants to dig their heels in and get their school work done.
4) An arts group of you young guys, under thirties and anyone who is in high school, who meet up once a month and discuss keeping music, art and theatre in this town and what your going to do about it. But also creating a group of youth, who can actively create what they want in this town. As always anybody is invited. There is no prejudice here!! Think.......Warrack Cinema!!
Okay guys, right to me and let me know what you think of the above, you can either leave a comment on blogger or write to my email chookabok@hotmail.com.
P.s I started my new script 3 pages in already takes place in the town hall. I'm pretty excited about it already!!
